Wait, what ? Wasn’t this newsletter in French before ? Ben, oui ! 😉 But I decided to try an english version this time and let’s see how it goes. The reason for this is that I really wish to communicate more with the international creative community which, you guess it, mostly uses English to understand each others. There is a limit with what an images can do, unfortunately. (Or perhaps, Google Translate ?) So, I truthfully hope this does not hurt your national heart (je vous entends, les Québécois !⚜️). I absolutely love French as my first language. But it has made me quite sad not to be able to communicate with other creators because of the language barrier. Let’s see how this goes ! Are you listening ? 👀

📺 NEW VLOG - Thrift, Tricot & Baie-Comeau
Above is my most recent vlog in French. Will it be the last one ? We’ll see ! I’m in summer mode and trying new things. 😉 In the meantime, enjoy !
Last May, I was invited to take part in the OFF-FBDM by fellow cartoonist François Donatien. I ran into his equally talented girlfriend, the incredible multi-talented artist Jacinthe Chevalier. I hadn't seen them for ages and it was a lot of fun!
I also quickly met local zinester Adrean Clark. She exchanged her AMAZING “Your Zine Toolbox” zine with me. I believe it is still available in her online shop and you should absolutely get one if zine making if of interest to you !
I was there mainly to tip my toe back into the zine scene. I blog about my experience with this first OFF here (in French).
I also made a new tiny zine where I share local zines ressources and secrets which is available in my shop. Shameless plug, I know.
🎨 Art du mois: The Gerber Baby !
Have you ever noticed that cute baby drawing on Gerber’s baby food ? I recently learned about the history behind this well-known drawing made by artist Dorothy Hope Smith. A cute fact is that the baby is a little girl. 💖 They offered the artist 300 US$ in 1930- including the selling rights. This would be worth about 5500 $US these days. I wonder how much the baby got… 😅
